About Allie
Allie Lewis is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, composer, playwright, music director, director, conductor, vocalist, pianist, and actor from Trumbull, Connecticut. She holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU and a BM in Voice with an Outside Field in Dramatic Writing from Ithaca College. In her work both on and off the stage, she values kind and joyful collaboration, and loves to tell stories with strong female leads that are silly, heartfelt, and unusual (and maybe a little witchy, too).
In 2018, during her gap year after completing high school, she worked on various music and theatre projects in the city, and worked at the York Theatre as assistant music director and production intern for Midnight at the Never Get and Christmas in Hell. She worked as the Music Ministry Intern at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Brooklyn, where she has continued as their Summer/Substitute Music Director to this day.
During her time at Ithaca College, she music directed for the IC Show Choir, Theatre Lab (13!, HSM, Grease, The Addams Family), IC Second Stage (The Mad Ones), and stage managed Burr: A New Musical. She founded, music directed, and performed in Tone Cold, an acapella group focused on collaboration with outside musicians/composers/arrangers as well as the other acapella groups on campus.
In September of 2023, she performed an album release concert at Rockwood Music Hall to celebrate the debut of “Woman in the Moon”, which can be found on all streaming platforms.
From 2023-2025, she stayed busy both in and out of NYU. She music directed thesis musical Next Year In Connecticut (book and lyrics by Sarah Rossman, music by Sequoia Sellinger), and as music copyist for its concert at The Greenroom 42. She directed and acted in "Mayday, Piper Cherokee" for the OneAct Festival at The Secret Theater (written by Aleyna Karaca), and made her debut appearances at 54 Below (pianist/bandleader: “I Like It Like That”) and Don’t Tell Mama (performer: “Hear Us Roar!”). In the rest of her time at Tisch, she has adored getting to music direct and perform in so many of her fellow writers' new works.
You can learn more about her own thesis musical, Escape Goat Island, on her Writing page.
Allie is now looking forward to upcoming performances at both The Green Room 42 and 54 Below (and others in the works!). Check out the Upcoming Events tab to see their dates and how to get tickets!
When not playing music or writing, Allie likes to read, bake desserts, learn how to read tarot cards, and drink a good cup of tea (Earl Grey is her favorite:)).
